The founders (Waldemar and Bartosz) studied together at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
Five years after graduating, they met again. It was in 1999 – a time of great changes in Poland. They had no money, so they decided to do something big – a toilet air freshener, a gel with the scent of real fresh fruit. They believed that the time of fakes and cheap stuff would end, so… they focused on quality from the beginning. With all their savings, they bought a dispenser and an agricultural mixer, which they adapted together for the production of toilet gel. This one product was to decide whether they would succeed and be successful,
or fail.

From the very beginning, the money earned was allocated for further development
and expansion of the company. Back then in Poland, there were no loans or investors ready to invest. They decided that their distinguishing feature would be the use of the best quality fragrance compositions. They wanted to create elixirs that would bring a smile to the customers’ faces. And that was also incorporated into the company name foundation: ELiXi.

Their first major export client knew exactly what he was looking for. He personally tested every sample he received in his car. Samples that gave him a headache were immediately thrown out the window. If he couldn’t guess the name of the scent without reading the labels, the samples ended up in the trash can. After six months, he invited
the Founders for a meeting. They did it. To this day, they are close friends, and that’s how it started. Today, export sales exceed 80% of total sales.

It was a windy April day in 2019. Employees of a neighboring company had just finished work and went out for their last cigarette break. A cigarette butt, likely carried by the wind, flew under the Founders’ building and started a fire. The entire factory and all the machines burned down. “It was the best-smelling fire,” said one of the firefighters involved in the extinguishing operation. There was no time for discussion. Only the reconstruction plan and its immediate implementation mattered. By the end of May, the first shipments were sent out, still made by hand or on borrowed machines. Together they overcame this problem: the entire ELiX team, their suppliers, and their customers. Currently, all production is carried out exclusively on new machines.

In the winter of 2021, the snow lay unusually long. One phone call turned a peaceful evening into a time for decision-making. An offer to buy nearly 8,000 square meters of land along with production buildings in an ideal location – close to the airport and the highway. The price seemed reasonable, the documents seemed OK. However, everything was under a thick layer of snow. Did the owner want to hide something and therefore insisted on time? However, faith in people pays off. We bought it. Everything was as agreed. We are very satisfied with our new location.

We do what we love. We’ve fallen into the world of scents and it’s great!
